Jimmy with chubby cheeks and a double chin

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a chubby person, you can see in these photos that I had round chubby cheeks, and plenty of weight to carry around. I am 5’9” tall, and at my highest weight I was over 235 pounds. I feed myself whatever felt right without any understanding of why I was eating it. I also did little to no exercise. There were a few times I would get little motivation to change. The first big motivator for me was when my size 38 pants didn’t fit anymore. I was going to have to change or buy bigger pants. I was not going to buy bigger pants! I tried the South Beach diet. This low-carb diet worked well for me, I lost 20 over a few months. For many years after that my weight bounced between 200 and 215 pounds. I was able to keep it from going up, but never quite broke the 200 pound mark.

In the summer of 2013 my mother was diagnosed with Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML), a year later she passed away. Her passing was a turning point for my life. I made up my mind to understand my health, and decided to begin working on improving it.

Now after many tiny changes in my diet, exercise and outlook on life I have become a new person. I want to share this life transformation process with you.
